Please note: Children under the age of 10 need a caregiver to remain in the library for the duration of the program. 

Celebrate Earth Day with us and Neighbourhood Forest! Every child can claim a free native tree! We won't know what we are getting until they arrive, but who doesn't want a free tree?!

Pick up details will be coming, but expect some time around Earth Day in April at the Listowel Branch! 

In honour of Earth Day, create a recycled craft and bring it back in for community voting!

Starting April 1st, visit any branch to pick up instructions and then create your own recycled craft at home! Bring it back into any branch when you are done, and we will display them in the Listowel Branch for the remainder of the month. All of April, you can come in and vote on your favourite creation!

Come grab one of our Take & Makes for Canada Day! We have all the supplies needed to make your own Canada Day wand, with lots of fun supplies to decorate it and make it your own. Then, find us at the Atwood Canada Day celebrations and show us your Canada Day wand for a surprise!

Kits available at all branches starting June 15.

Join us on June 30th for an end of school party at the library! From 12-8pm in Listowel we will have a full day of events for you to enjoy to celebrate school being finished! From K-Pop Demon Hunters to Super Smash Bros., you're sure to have a blast!

  • 12-1:30pm - K-Pop Demon Hunters Watch Party < REGISTER
  • 1:30-2:30pm - DIY Zoey's Notebook < REGISTER
  • 2:30-4:00pm - Costume Party with Just Dance < REGISTER
    • Come dressed as your favourite character from K-Pop Demon Hunters! Highest voted costume receives a prize!
  • 6:00-8:00pm - Super Smash Bros. Competition < REGISTER
    • Winner receives a prize! 
    • Please register for each person playing!

Let's start off right by reading 1 book to our littles every day before they enter Kindergarten! In just 4 years, one book a night will surpass 1000 books!! This initiative is to support literacy and the love of reading! 

How to join in on the fun: 

  1. Get ready. Pick up a tracking poster or print them from our website.
  2. Read & Track it. Colour in, or cross out for each book you read to your child.
  3. Every book counts. Even if your child wants to hear the same book again and again, you can count it each time. 
  4. Keep going. Can you surpass 1000 books? 
  5. Share your success. Tag us @northperthlib and use the hashtag #1000BooksB4K.

Come and create! We will have art supplies out for all to create with. This is a self-directed exploration of art.

In the busyness of family life, it can sometimes be hard to find the time and space to connect one on one with our children. Connection Corner is here to be that safe, cozy, and connective space where you can come with your child/children and be intentional with your time together.
Each month will be geared toward a theme and set up with related books, activities, games, and opportunities to have fun and connect. A joyful time to be present and playful.
